WELCOME to The Equality Project Screenplay Competition

Hosted by Lucknow Films in association with ALLY PRODUCTIONS

Our goal is simple: We want to shed light on a subject that needs a champion. Every time an LGBT person is bullied, beaten or worse, kills themselves for simply being themselves, it not only hurts us on a personal level, it hurts all of us a society. The time to take action is NOW. We may not be able to change the minds of everyone in the world, but we are willing to help one person at a time and, as mother Teresa put it best, not worry about the numbers. Our hope is that by calling on all screenwriters who have a script about this issue, we can be one of the few to bring this issue the full light of day that it deserves - through film. Combined with the power of the internet, Film is arguably THE most powerful medium to  capture the attention of people because, not only can it be viewed on a global scale, a good film can be understood by anyone, regardless of what their native language is. And, it just happens to be what we're good at. We are looking forward to reading all of the scripts that best highlights this issue - submit yours today!

Read below to find out everything you need to know about how to participate and help with this project.

I am not a writer - How can I help?

There will be many areas in which we will need volunteers, on or off set. Please contact us if there's any way in which you'd like to lend a hand, we'll be more than happy to find a way in which you can participate. Some ideas might include assisting with food acquisition for cast and crew, providing film locations such as businesses or residences, generating traffic to our website and facebook page, or helping on-set to hold lighting or mics, or printing/providing copies of the script. Regardless of how you choose to volunteer, we'd sincerely appreciate it!

This project will largely be funded through Lucknow Films along with any assistance we receive from volunteers. Our goal is NOT to solicit funds, this film we be made no matter what. However, if the way in which you would prefer to assist  to this important cause is by donating funds, please feel free to contact us to find out how.
